Current Status
: Supreme Court Of India has allowed Hadiya to rejoin her medical college to
complete her study and it has appointed dean of her college as her guardian.
Fact Of the Case : This is the case of Religion
conversion of Girl (Hadiya; Akhila Ashokan) who belongs to Hindu religion.
While pursuing her medical degree at Salem, she converted to Islamic faith and
married to the Shafin Jahan (Islam). According to her family, her mind washed
has been done and thus she is showing her interest to be converted in islam by
her own will. But according to girl ( Hadiya) , she converted into Islam with
her own will and it is her conset in marrying with Islam Boy ( Shafin Jahan).
High Court of Kerala dismissed Ashokan's
petition and let Hadiya continue learning Islam and live with Zainaba,
observing that she was not in illegal confinement.

In this modern world, when such
type of circumstances come before us, we need to develop broader view and we need to respect the choice of everybody
and we should give liberty to everyone of their own choice. The choice of every
girl must be respected by everyone we should keep castism , religiousness aside
and look forward to Humanity.
